TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo has been advised to revise the Regional Regulation on the Regional Budget. The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) member, Aliman Aat, considered that the Jakarta Provincial Government has failed to include the proposal of procuring 200 garbage trucks in the Regional Budget that had been agreed in mid January.

He said that they could not use the Regional Budget to procure the trucks. There will be a violation of the law if they force to be use it. "That is why, just revise the Regional Regulation and propose it to the Home Ministry," he said when contacted by Tempo, February 8.

According to Aliman, the revision could certainly be carried out. The Jakarta Provincial Government could just sent a letter to the Home Ministry, which contains the request to revise the Regional Regulation because there is an advantageous matter, which is the procurement of garbage trucks that have not been proposed to the Regional Budget. After it is approved by the Ministry, then the DPRD can discuss it again.

Through the revision, the Jakarta Provincial Government can use the Regional Budget to purchase garbage trucks. "The Provincial Government should be brave enough to apologize to the Home Ministry and public because they have made a blunder in regards to the garbage truck issue," he said.
