TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agriculture Minister Suswono said that in order to mitigate the impact of floods in various regions, the Ministry will help provide seeds. The Ministry holds seed reserves of 13.4 thousand tons that can be used by farmers to replant.

“A lot of seeds can still grow well in many regions, such as Purwokerto, which I visited last week. The Ministry is still waiting for data from the regions,” Suswono said on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.

According to Suswono, verified data that shows the condition of the regions are recquired before the seeds are distributed. After the official data from every region is obtained, the Ministry will provide the seed reserves from the National Logistics Agency.

“As long as there’s verified data, we will be able to distribute seed reserves,” Suswono said.
