TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - An explosion took place at NATO military base in Wazir Akbar Khan, Kabul, Afghanistan, on Saturday evening, January 4, 2013. The explosion was caused by a bomb installed on a convoy vehicle passing in front of the base.
"The blast took place after a military convoy entered the Camp Eggers, a NATO base near the German embassy in street 17 Wazir Akbar Khan district. Since the incident occurred inside the base the casualties remained unknown," a police source told Xinhua .
It is stongly suggested that Taliban was behind the attack. Taliban announced previously that cold weather would not prevent them from attacking security forces.
