TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama has allowed buses to Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport to use the toll road's hard shoulder. This will be applied after Halim Airport has been established as a commercial flight airport in January 2014.
In response to Ahok's hard shoulder running plan, Corporate Secretary of PT Jasa Marga, David Wiyatno, admitted that he is not aware of it. "We haven't had any discussion regarding the matter so far," David said to Tempo, Sunday, December 22 2013.
According to David, the width of the hard shoulder is between 2 to 2.5 meters. "So, it wouldn't be sufficient to fit the bus size," he said.
David reminds the use of hard shoulder as regulated by Government Regulation number 15 of 2005 concerning to toll road. "It is mentioned that the hard shoulder is only for emergency," he said.
Prior to that, Ahok stated that if the hard shoulder is too narrow, it will be expanded. The use is only for buses. He also said that he has notified PT Jasa Marga regarding the plan.
"This is also to anticipate parking space shortage at Halim Airport, so that people will use public transportation," uttered Ahok.
