TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Multivision and Director Hanung Bramantyo commented towards the legal accusation made by Rachmawati Soekarnoputri against the two in the recently released epic movie Soekarno: Indonesia Merdeka. "I do not see that both Ram (Multivision) and Hanung are invincinble before law, as they have faced four charges," said Rivai Kusumanegara, lawyer of the two defendants.
The four charges, as filed in Metro Police and trialed at the Central Commerce Court concern on copyrights violations, discreditation and law obstruction. "We have received instruction from the Commerce Court to confiscate and submit the film master and scenario. We also have stopped two scenes from being broadcasted, as requested," he said.
Rivai said his clients obeyed the law, while taking on the court. However, he suggested that Multivision and Hanung are looking for a mediation to a discussion and better solvency. "As for now, we will do our best to comply with the law," he added.
