TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - H.E. Goran Aleksi, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, paid an official visit to the ASEAN Secretariat and met H.E. A.K.P. Mochtan, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs this week.
H.E. Aleksi informed that Serbia wishes to enhance its relations with ASEAN and build the foundation of its relationship with individual ASEAN Member States. In this occasion, he also reiterated the desire of Serbia to accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
DSG Mochtan warmly welcomed the visit by H.E. Aleksi and expressed appreciation for Serbia’s commitment to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN and ASEAN Member States. He reassured him of the Secretariat’s readiness to promote the relationship.
H.E. Aleksi and DSG Mochtan further exchanged views on ways and means to forge practical cooperation as well as possible areas namely people-to-people contact, business and investment, and culture.
