TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - TransJakarta Public Service Division (BLU) provides opportunities for schools to tour the city of Jakarta using TransJakarta buses. Pargaulan Butarbutar, BLU Chief said the TJ Goes to School program enables schools to rent TransJakarta buses to several tourism destinations within the capital, such as the National Monument (Monas), Ragunan zoo, Ancol Dreamland, Planetarium & Observatorium at Taman Izmail Marzuki, and Beautiful Indonesian Miniature Park (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah).
The program was created to introduce TransJakarta to students. "During the tour, they will be accompanied by a tour guide, who will also explain about TransJakarta," said Pargaulan.
Despite taking TransJakarta route, the students will not be using regular buses. The BLU chief ensured the students will not get stuck in traffic jams since the bus will not stop at shelters.
Interested parties with a minimum of 50 passengers may submit a letter of request to the TransJakarta Management office in Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta one week before the tour date.
