TEMPO.CO, Somerset - Amid the mayhem in the national airline management that repeatedly leaves passengers abandoned, Etihad Airways is gearing up to launch its latest service for its passengers, particularly mothers and children, by the end of the year.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier is hiring 500 on-board British-data-style nannies to deal with screaming babies and over-excitable children on flights.
“Flying with a young family can be a daunting task, even for the most experienced travelers,” said Aubrey Tiedt, vice president of guest services of Etihad Airways as quoted by Daily Mail on Monday, September 2, 2013.
The 500 nannies, mostly females, were trained to look after children , particularly on long-haul flights. Etihad Airways trained the nannies using the famous nanny school Norland College in Bath, Somerset, UK.
The two-month training encompassed child psychology, how to play with children, and how to entertain them during flights.
The airline hopes this service can also reduce disruption and make flights more enjoyable to other passengers.
