Banjarnegara To Build Botanical Garden

TEMPO.CO , Banjarnegara - Banjarnegara regency administration is planning to establish a botanical garden for the education purpose. The five-hectare botanical garden will be integrated with Cultural Park on the Serayu Riverside.
"The Minister of Forestry Zulkifli Hasan has approved Banjarnegara to have a botanical garden," said Banjarnegara Deputy Chief, Hadi Supeno earlier today.
According to Hadi, the garden will be designed to have playing grounds for children, the elderly and open theatre stage. "Banjarnegara will become a regency with cultural and art awareness; we will provide the space," he added.
Minister of Forestry, Zulkifli Hasan, who had surveyed the location of establishment, said the botanical garden can be used as education means on environmental conservation for children who play in the playing ground. It can also be utilized for endemic plantation of Banjarnegara and Central Java conservation, and initiate customs to plant trees on the riverside, especially Serayu River.
