TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Judhariksawan, the newly elected Chief of Indonesia Broadcasting Commission (KPI), is assessing the possibility of imposing a fine for broadcating companies that violate the Broadcasting Behavior Guideline and Program Standard (P3SPS).
He explained that the fine is mostly intended for broadcasting companies that often broadcast shows that contain violence.
As for the amount, Judhariksawan suggested that it should be determined through a joint assessment joint assessment with the Ministry of Finance.
Meanwhile, in relation to the Broadcasting Law Revision, Mahfudz Siddiq, Chief of Information Commission at the House of Representives has promised to promulgate a better policy berfore his term expires. "We will begin drafting [the revision] on September," he said.
