Indonesian Duo to Compete in ABU TV Song Festival

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Indonesian singers, Putri Siagian and Shella Tiatira, will participate in Asia Pacific Broadcasting union (ABU) TV Song Festival in Hanoi, Vietnam, on October 2013.
Under the Contoh Management led by Benny Simanjuntak, both singers will compete as duo to represent Indonesia at the international festival. Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and Srilanka are among fifteen countries who will participate in the festival.
The duo will perform the song 'Mimpiku' (My Dream) by Atta Javatta, and music arrangement by Agus Hardiman, the 2006 AMI AWARDS winner for the song 'Bukan Milikku Lagi' (No Longer Mine) popularized by Indonesian famous singer Agnes Monica.
"We still have three months to practice and prepare Putri and Shell's performance," Benny said.
The team's participation in the international festival is supported by Creative Economy and Tourism Ministry. "We support the creative ideas of elevating the country's image through Indonesian singers' performances and promote Indonesian creative economy and tourism in international world," said Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Dr. Sapta Nirwandar recently.
ABU Song TV Festival has become the event to perform popular songs and to promote the culture and tourism of each 60 countries which is broadcasted by 220 television station in Asia Pacific region.
In last year's festival, Indonesia won The Best Performance category in South Korea through Maria Calista's stunning voice.
