Hans Lienesch, the Ramen Rater

TEMPO.CO, Seattle - Hans Lienesch may be a 'hero' for instant noodle fans throughout the world. He has eaten over 1,100 types of instant noodles originated from all over the world and reviews the noodles in a dedicated blog: The Ramen Rater.

Lienesch becomes popular, not only in Seattle, his home town, but also in the international world. A South Korean newspaper called him a God of Ramen, referring to his expertise in describing the excellence and weakness in instant noodle products.

Japanese television has aired several interviews with Lienesch. Along with his rising popularity, many noodle producers throughout the world are sending him their latests products to be reviewed.

Lienesch, legally stated as a blind and unemployed man, only stops writing his reviews during his holiday. His reviews have always been awaited by millions of noodle lovers. The most wanted noodles are listed on the world's 10 best instant noodles, excluding ones from Taiwan.

According to GoSkagit.com, The Ramen Rater earned wrath from thousands of Taiwanese after mentioning one of Taiwan noodle product on his world's 'worst instant noodle' list. Lienesch had finally apologized.

He consumes the noodles almost every day. Some noodles listed on his version for the best noodles includes Singaporean laksa noodle and rendang flavored instant noodle made by an Indonesian instant noodle producer.
