TEMPO.CO , Samarinda – The residents of East Kalimantan and in Mahakam Ulu district are unaffected by the fuel price hike, which may push the prices of nine main commodities higher. Instead, the residents are more concerned about the dry season which can cause the prices to soar.
"During the dry season, the prices of nine main commodities are overwhelming because the river is dry and supplies can't be distributed," said Toni Imang, Assistant for the Regional Administration Division at the Mahakam Ulu District Secretariat on Monday, July 8.
Toni said that the increase in oil prices is not a major concern because the people are used to non-subsidized prices.
