TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- The government has announced that it will ease the process of art objects entering the nation from abroad for exhibitions. Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, released this statement after his speech during the opening ceremony of the art exhibition Art Jog 2013 in Yogyakarta last Saturday night.

Hatta promised to immediately coordinate this issue with the Directorate General of Tax and Excise. The amount of art objects shipped to Indonesia for exhibitions will not be limited.

Hatta said that art events, such as the Art Jog, must be supported by the government in order to grow to an international scale. He said that an art event such as the Art Jog would not only boost tourism in the region, but also boost cultural richness and growth.

Art Jog 2013 includes creations by 115 artists under the theme "Maritime Culture". As many as 158 artworks are on display during the exhibition held at the Yogyakarta Cultural Park from July 6 to July 20.
