Extreme Heat-Wave Strikes the US
Jumat, 19 Oktober 2018 23:03 WIB
TEMPO.CO , California – California was reported to have a boiling hot temperature as the thermometer shows 130 degrees Fahrenheit caused by a heat-wave that already killed a citizen. Paramedics reported to have visited a house where an elderly man was found lifeless due to the extreme heat.
National Weather Service also estimated that the heat would likely to reach an excess of 134 degrees Fahrenheit.
The heat wave has sent more than 40 other people to hospitals in Las Vegas, but no life-threatening injuries were reported.
"We will probably start to see a rise in calls Sunday and Monday as the event continues," the fire department said in a statement.
The heat also forced United States Airways in Phoenix to cancel 18 flights because the airline's smaller planes could not handle the extreme heat.
