Temanggung's Delicious Ox-Tail Soup

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tenda Biru's ox-tail soup in Temanggung is worth to be a cullinary destination if you are visiting Central Java. The ox-tail soup is quite popular for its tender beef combined with spinaches and red beans. The combination of the spices makes the soup more enjoyable.
The ox-tail soup stall is located on Jl. Dr. Wahidin No. 40 Temanggung, about 200 meters from Temanggung's town center. Tenda Biru stall opens since 06:00 to 21:00 local time and have never lack of visitors. Cars from outside town always overcrowd the parking lot.
Beside ox-tail soup, the stall also offers another Javanese food, such as beef brongkos, koyor, soto and rawon.
Wiwit, the second generation of the owner said that she always pressure-cook the beef before boiling it, to make the beef tender and tasty. According to her, the stall was previously named Warung Barokah (Blessed Stall), but upon the customers suggestion, it changed to Tenda Biru (Blue Tent) which matched the colour of the tent previously used to sell the soup. As the demand is increasing, they moved to the current bigger stall, and serve up to 80 kilograms of ox-tails, and more on holidays. The ox-tail soup is priced at Rp23.000 per portion with rice.
