TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ray Rangkuti from the Indonesia Civil Circle (LMI) says there is five mean reasons the public has lost trust in the House of Representatives (DPR).
They include, corruption, frequent comparative studies abroad, failure to attend mandatory meetings, lack of concentration during meetings, and quarrelsome behavior.
Ray said this image has resulted in the public losing confidence in members of the House. "Around 30 percent of the voters will not vote," said Ray during a public discussion in Jakarta on Saturday, May 18.
The fact that House members are often absent from mandatory meetings is currently a hot topic of discussion in the press, and House members are panicking because this trait affects their electability.
In response to this situation, the Democrat faction’s secretary at the DPR, Saan Mustopa, said there should be joint awareness of the members of the House in order to regain the public’s trust.
