TEMPO.CO, London – English Football Association (FA) charged Liverpool’s striker, Luis Suarez, with violent conduct after he bite Chelsea’s defender, Branislav Ivanovic, in a Premier League’s game at Anfield last Sunday.

Suarez was predicted to face a lengthy ban in addition to a fine imposed by the club for the incident. The ban could be more than over three matches as stated by FA.

Based on a statement released by FA, the incident was overlooked by the match officials, therefore it should be reviewed retrospectively.

Suarez must provide a response to the statement on Tuesday, April 23 at 6 pm local time at the latest before an Independent Regulatory Commission contuine the investigation with a court proceeding.

In November 2010, Suarez was banned for seven matches while he was playing for Ajax Amsterdam due to a similar incident. Since then, he never played for Ajax because he was transferred to Liverpool at the end of his sanction.

However, Liverpool’s director, Ian Ayre, denied any rumor stating that Suarez would be listed on transfer because of the incident.
