TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Former Indonesian Banking Restructuring Agency (IBRA) head I Putu Gede Ary Suta was questioned as a witness in the embezzlement case of Account 502 by National Police detectives at the National Police HQ, Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/1). The questioning lasted from 0800 until 1530. Following the questioning, Ary Suta only told reporters, I was asked many questions and I answered all of them. As regards the content of the questions, you will have to ask the detectives. National Police HQs deputy director on corruption and white-collar crimes High Comm. Marshudi Hanafi, who led the questioning of Suta, declined to make any comment. A detective who wished to remain anonymous said that Putu was asked a total of 33 questions, including his vision, responsibilities and plans as IBRA head in June 2001. Suta, however, could not answer the police question regarding the final balance of IBRA when he handed over to his successor Syafruddin Temenggung. As reported earlier, Suta, together with former Bank Indonesia governor Syahril Sabirin, are allegedly involved in the embezzlement of the state treasury account number 202.
