TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several Tempo journalists attempted to interview Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya between May 11 and 22, 2026. But the 2011 Military Academy graduate gave no response through Friday, May 22, 2026.
We sent interview request letters containing the findings of this report to several locations in Jakarta. We delivered one letter to the Cabinet Secretariat office inside the State Palace complex in Jakarta on Monday, May 11, 2026. On the same day, Tempo journalist Daniel Ahmad Fajri delivered another interview request letter to Teddy’s private residence at the Cijantung II Army Housing Complex in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta. The letter was received by a construction worker renovating Teddy’s home.
Because Teddy never responded to the interview request, Daniel returned to the residence on Tuesday, May 19. He brought another interview request letter that day and met Teddy’s aide, Virzha Andika, who had been assigned to supervise the home renovation project.
Virzha claimed he had already informed Teddy about Tempo’s interview request. But according to Virzha, Teddy instructed him to ignore the letter. “I don’t know the reason,” he said. Daniel waited at Teddy’s residence for nearly two hours, but there was still no response from Teddy.
