TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Delta Air Lines jets collided at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, just before 10 p.m. local time. The regional jets collided at low speed on the taxiway, a connector between the runway, apron, hangar, terminal, or other facilities.

According to a statement from Delta Air Lines, the two planes were regional CRJ-900 jets operated by Delta's subsidiary, Endeavour Air. Flight 5047 had just arrived from Charlotte, North Carolina, when it was struck in the nose by flight 5155, which was scheduled to depart for Roanoke, Virginia.

In a conversation recorded by LiveATC.net, the pilot of Flight 5047 informed ground control that there were two CRJ aircrafts colliding on Taxiway M. “Their right wing clipped our nose and the cockpit wind screens," he was quoted as saying by People.

The incident resulted in a cabin crew member suffering from "non-life threatening injuries" and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, despite the "low-speed collision.

According to the statement, the flight from Charlotte was carrying 57 passengers, the flight to Roanoke had 28 passengers, and none of them were injured.

However, other passengers were taken to the airport terminal by bus and offered hotel rooms and meals, the airline added in their statement. Their flights were rescheduled for October 2.

Regarding airport operations, LaGuardia Airport's operations were not affected after the planes collided on the taxiway. The Port Authority also stated that there was no impact on the entire airport, located in Queens, New York. No arrival or departure delays were reported on October 2, according to FlightAware.
