TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Expired SIM card numbers can occur due to several reasons, such as overdue grace periods, never being used, or not being recharged for a long time. However, users can still reactivate expired numbers as long as they have not been inactive for too long by the operator.
Mobile operators such as Telkomsel, Indosat, Tri, and XL have provided services to reactivate users' expired SIM cards. Users can reactivate their SIM cards independently (online) or by visiting the nearest mobile operator's office with certain terms and conditions.
Telkomsel
For blocked numbers:
- Contact *888*89# using the blocked number.
- Users will see information on the blocked number and two options for "1. Unblock" and "2. SKB" (Agreement and Terms apply).
- Choose "1. Unblock" if agreeing to unblock and agreeing to the terms stated in SKB.
- The unblocking process will be processed, and the card will become active again.
For expired numbers:
- Prepare the Identity Card (KTP) and Family Card (KK) previously registered to the number, as well as the physical SIM card to be reactivated.
- Contact *888*89# using your expired number.
- Follow the instructions. Choose "1. Reactivate".
- Choose "1. Agree" if agreeing to the terms.
- Enter the 16-digit KTP and Family Card numbers.
- If the KTP and Family Card numbers match, you will receive information that the SIMPATI reactivation request has been received and is being processed.
- If the KTP and Family Card numbers do not match, you can input the latest KTP and Family Card numbers, and then you will receive information that the SIMPATI reactivation and registration are being validated.
Indosat
Through UMB *888*89#:
- Prepare the Identity Card Number (NIK) and KK number registered to the IM3 number to be reactivated.
- Make a call to *888*89#
- Enter NIK
- Enter KK No.
- Customers will receive an SMS from 4444 for further information on the reactivation request status.
Through myIM3:
- Prepare the NIK and KK numbers previously registered.
- Open the myIM3 application.
- Choose the reactivation banner on the myIM3 app's main page.
- Enter the NIK corresponding to the IM3 number.
- Enter the corresponding KK number.
- Customers will receive a message in the myIM3 app's inbox or an SMS from 4444 for further information on the reactivation request status.
XL
Through XL Center:
- Bring the old SIM card that has not exceeded 60 days of validity.
- Bring an e-KTP corresponding to the registration data.
- If represented, bring the original Power of Attorney with a Rp 10,000 stamp and the original e-KTP from both the granting and receiving parties.
- Be willing to have your photo taken while holding the original e-KTP for identity verification.
- Show the KK number.
- An Administrative Fee of Rp 5,000 is only charged for the first reactivation. However, you can get an administrative fee waiver by topping up a minimum of Rp 50,000.
Through XLC online:
- Number expired no more than 60 days.
- Upload a photo of yourself and the following documents:
- e-KTP
- KK
- SIM Card with clear 16-digit numbers - Selfie while holding the e-KTP.
- Signature photo on white paper.
- Cannot be represented.
- Enter another active and contactable phone number via WhatsApp for verification.
- Free administrative fee.
Tri
- Access *888*89#;
- Enter the last 4 digits at the back of the customer's prepaid card (sim card);
- Enter the previously registered NIK; and
- Enter the previously registered KK number.
