TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas in West Java will routinely experience light rain for the upcoming week. The weather in the province has tended to be wet since August 12 tomorrow until the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

Head of the West Java BMKG Climatology Station, Rakhmat Prasetia, said that the sea temperature in the western part of Indonesia which is still relatively warm triggers the formation of rain clouds. The conditions of the second ten days period in West Java are different from the first ten days period of August 2024. Last week, there were still 20 percent of areas with the potential for rain in the medium to high category. In the first decade, the areas that experienced the longest days without rain or drought were Telagasari and Sukamanah, Garut Regency. The duration of no rain was up to 36 days.
