2. Japanese Topsun Charizard Scarce Blue Back
Topsun Charizard Scarce Blue Back is a pre-First Edition Pokemon card with a blue back that resembles a playing card.
This card was first sold in 1997 with a pack of apple-flavored gum. After almost 30 years, out of the 31 cards that have been made, the Charizard Card is the only one that received a Gem Mint grade.
This card was successfully auctioned in 2021 for US$493,230 or around Rp7.8 billion.
3. Pikachu No.2 Silver Trophy
The Pikachu Silver Trophy has a high price due to its limited number and historical value.
This card was awarded to the second winner of the first Pokemon tournament, the Lizardon Mega Battle tournament in Japan.
The Pikachu No.2 Silver Trophy card was only printed 14 times and only 4 have PSA value.
One of the cards had a Gem Mint PSA of 10 and sold for US$444,000.
4. Pokemon Shadowless First Edition Holo Charizard
The Pokemon Shadowless First Edition card became a part of history as it is the First Edition Charizard from the 1999 Base Set.
The character image from this card is famously iconic with a dramatic perspective from the front. Out of 3,000 cards, very few Gem Mint Charizards from the original Base Set i.e. only 121 cards have the highest rank.
In March 2021, this Gem Mint card sold for US$420,000.
5. Blastoise Pokemon Presentation Galaxy Star Hologram
This card was created in 1998 by Wizard of the Coast to show Nintendo Japan why they should release the TCG in English.
This “presentation” card was only printed as two Blastoise cards. In 2021, the appearance of this card came as a surprise to fans of Pokemon cards made for North America and was auctioned for US$360,000.
6. Bronze Pikachu No.3 Trainer Trophy
This card was the first Pokemon tournament card held at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba, Japan in 1997. It was awarded as a prize to the four participants who took third place during the tournament.
The card, which was only made in four pieces, is still in good condition and was sold in an auction for US$300,000 or around Rp4.8 billion in 2023.
