TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Procurement business actors are urging the Indonesian government to list its goods and services needs at the eCatalogue amid intensive new capital city or IKN project development.
The Indonesian government expects the hospital in IKN to be ready for operation by August 17. "The government must list their procurement plan in the eCatalogue as soon as possible to allow business actors to prepare themselves,” said the former Deputy for the Government Procurement of Goods and Services Policy Institute (LKPP) Ikak Gayuh Patriastomo on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Ikak, also a senior procurement practitioner, said there has been no list of goods and services needed by the government listed in the eCatalogue despite the expected operations this year.
"If the government lists the goods and services required for IKN, including the products that will be used, business actors can arrange for the manufacturing, readying the raw materials, and conducting price estimation," said Ikak.
Ikak added that planning is a critical stage for business actors. "Especially if you have to import raw materials, build a factory, prepare distribution, all of that takes time," said Ikak, cautioned that the government must not announce its procurement plan without prior notification.
Chairperson of the 2024 Government Procurement Forum and Expo or GPFE Mochammad Ruslim said that the IKN project is expected to be a driving force among domestic business players, considering the anticipation of IKN becoming the center of governmental services.
"We hope that the procurement of goods and services at IKN will empower domestic producers," he said.
"If you are forced to use imported products for IKN procurement, keep it below 30 percent,” said Ruslin in the forum which also coincided with the 5th Hospital Procurement Forum and Expo (HPFE) 2024.
