TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - RevoU released the latest report on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that are widely used today. The report is based on the results of research on multifunctional AI tools carried out by the RevoU team since early 2024.

"Through this research, it is clear what the most popular AI tools are in Indonesia," said Andrew Prasatya, AVP Content and Product Marketing, RevoU in a written statement. received by Tempo, Monday, July 15, 2024.

Andrew said that in conducting this research, RevoU collected and compared the features of each AI tool from the official website and then measured the number of users through visitor data using similar web. "The last data was collected in July 2024," said Andrew.

Based on RevoU's research results, the following are the AI tools that were widely used in 2024:

1. ChatGPT

Even though it was only released in November 2022, ChatGPT managed to get 100 million users in 2 months and now commands around 25 billion monthly visits (96.5 percent), making it the most popular multifunctional AI tool.

Apart from that, it is reported that OpenAI will release GPT-5 in late 2024 or early 2025. This means that there is always a new version of ChatGPT every year, which makes many people use it.

There is a free feature to access ChatGPT, but you can only access the full GPT-3.5 version. However, it has a limit of 20 to 30 questions per hour. Access to GPT-4 is currently still limited.

2. Gemini and Character AI

Gemini and Character AI show their popularity with around 419 million (1.6 percent) and 277 million (1 percent) visits each month. Currently, Google is expanding Gemini access to several products such as Google Messages, Google Workspace, Gmail, up to iOS 18.

The free Gemini features can only be accessed by Gemini 1.0 Pro to help users with rationaling, summarizing and research. However, in the free version, users cannot access Gemini Advanced for more complex problem solving.

Meanwhile, Character AI has just launched the Two-Way Avatar Conversation feature in a mobile application called Character Calls, which allows users to chat with their created characters via telephone like calling a friend. Meanwhile, these features can be enjoyed in free mode

3. Claude AI

Just released in March 2023, Claude AI is already ranked as the 4th most popular multifunctional AI tool with a monthly number of approximately 65 million visitors. According to Anthropic, Claude 3.5 (Sonnet) has set new benchmarks in graduate-level reasoning (GPQA), undergraduate-level knowledge (MMLU), and coding proficiency (HumanEval), and has better performance than GPT-4 and AI tools other multifunctional.

The free version can only access Claude AI 3.5 (sonnet) and is claimed to be able to help analyze information from text and images. However, to be able to access Claude 3, users must access the paid version.

Apart from the three AI tools, fourth place is occupied by Perplexity (65,600,000 visitors), Copilot (39,400,000 visitors), and hugging face (23,300,000 visitors).

Comparison of features in AI tools

ChatGPT, Gemini, Character AI, and Perplexity are multifunctional AI tools that offer key features such as text generation, image creation, web search, custom model creation, API integration, text-to-speech, and integration into other applications.

One important feature is web search which helps users find information online from various sources. Some examples can be used to retrieve data from certain URLs, provide copywriting input on landing pages, or check for incorrect formulas in Google Sheets.

Only ChatGPT, Gemini, Character AI, Copilot, and Pi AI provide a text-tospeech feature to read text or AI answers in the form of audio. This text-to-speech feature can be used to create blog post narration, create audio in various languages, provide real-time audio output.
