TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The East Nusa Tenggara volcano Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores erupted on Saturday, June 29, at 14:21 local time, spewing volcanic ash up to 900 meters above the crater. The ash cloud was blowing westward.

Referring to the report of the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG), the eruption lasted 10 minutes and 14 seconds with a maximum amplitude of 46.3 millimeters, based on data recorded by a seismograph at the Mount Lewotobi monitoring post.

"To date, Mount Lewotobi Laki remains at level III alert status," PVMBG said, as quoted by Antara on Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2024.

Authorities advise people to stay outside a 3-kilometer radius from the eruption center and a 4-kilometer radius in the north-northwest and south-southeast sectors.
