TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - International delegates participating in the 10th World Water Forum will start arriving in Bali on May 15, or three days prior to the forum, an official at the Law and Human Rights Ministry stated.
"The flow of arrival of delegates is predicted to start on D-3 of the forum, or May 15, 2024," the ministry's Director of Immigration Traffic, Felucia Sengky Ratna, told ANTARA when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday.
She revealed that the Immigration Directorate General has prepared special immigration counters at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to serve guests of the forum, themed "Water for Shared Prosperity," scheduled on May 18-25.
"The clearance process for VVIP guests, such as heads of state, will take place in the VVIP building. Meanwhile, the VIP building will accommodate ministers or VIP guests," she stated.
Ratna noted that the directorate general had been mandated by Presidential Decree No. 13 of 2024 to manage registration, websites, and information systems related to the holding of the global-level triennial forum.
Earlier, the Ngurah Rai Airport Immigration Office stated that it had taken thorough preparatory measures for welcoming the delegates of this year's World Water Forum.
The immigration office has readied mobile devices that will be used for facilitating immigration services for heads of state and ministers taking part in the forum.
"We have mapped out the area and have stationed officers," Head of the Ngurah Rai Airport Immigration Office, Suhendra, remarked in Denpasar City, Bali, on May 4.
He added that the immigration office had separated the arrival lanes of the forum delegates and regular customers, noting that three special counters, manned by 12 officers, would serve the delegates.
"As for regular customers, we have prepared 30 auto gates and 10 inspection counters, with 40 officers stationed," he remarked.
