Pelita Air Officially Launches New Jakarta-Kendari Flight Routes

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pelita Air airline has officially launched a new flight route from Haluoleo Kendari Airport to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Haluoleo Kendari Airport Public Relations Officer Nurlansyah said that the new Pelita Air airline route serves passengers with direct flights from Kendari to Jakarta.

"The first flight started on April 24, 2024,” said Nurlansyah in Kendari, Thursday, April 25.

According to Nurlansyah, the flight is scheduled once a day, with the first flight of the day from Jakarta at 06:15 a.m. WITA, arriving in Kendari at 10:10 a.m. WITA. "Meanwhile, (the first flight) from Kendari departs at 11:15 a.m. WITA to arrive in Jakarta at 01:10 p.m. WITA," Nurlansyah explained.

Nurlansyah said the flight is popular as it allows prospective passengers to travel to Jakarta fromKendari without a layover at other airports. "Alhamdulillah, the flight was full yesterday and today,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Southeast Sulawesi Tourism Office encourages Pelita Air to open more flight routes from big cities to Kendari. "The district government really hopes that airlines will open flights from Denpasar to Kendari and other cities considering our tourism potential is one of the best in Indonesia," said the Head of Southeast Sulawesi Tourism Office, Belli Harli Tombili, in Kendari, Thursday.
