TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman claims the province is still the favorite destination for tourist visits during the 2024 Eid al-Fitr holiday.

"As of Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 11:50 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time), the total number of tourists reached 391,575 people with an average data entry percentage of 30 percent," he said on Monday. According to Herman, the total figure was calculated during the period of April 5 to 14, 2024.

Three destinations in West Java were favored by tourists, including Sariater Hotspring in Subang, Pangandaran Beach in Pangandaran Regency, and Taman Safari Indonesia in Bogor Regency. Reportedly, more than a third of tourists in West Java have visited these three destinations.

During the Eid holiday, 58,985 tourists visited Sariater Hotspring, 57,885 people visited Pangandaran Beach, and 55,824 visited Taman Safari Indonesia.

Tourist visits in West Java peaked on April 11, 2024, with a total of 101,306 tourists. Furthermore, on April 13 there were 95,374 people, and on April 12 there were 90,145 tourists visiting the province.

Tourist visits in West Java began to decline towards the end of the holiday period. On Sunday, April 14, 2024, tourist arrivals in West Java reached 40,629 people.
