1. Indonesia Ranks Second as Largest Soap Exporter to Egypt, Falls Behind Malaysia

Indonesia is claimed to be the second largest exporter of soap to Egypt with an export value of US$4.48 million throughout 2023. This figure equals 16.45 percent of the total market share of imported soap in Egypt, with the total value of imported soap in Egypt amounting to US$27.14 million.

The statement was conveyed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Luthfi Rauf, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, during a meeting with importers of Indonesian soap products and several other company officials and the Industrial Development Authority in Sadat City, Egypt. Lutfi explained that the export value of Indonesian soap increased 1,660 percent compared to December 2022 which was only US$255,000. According to Lutfi, this provides an opportunity to boost the export of Indonesian soap to Egypt.

2. Indonesia Records Over 5,000 People Infected with Singapore Flu, Govt Urges Public to Maintain Immunity

Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin urges people to maintain their health and immunity amid the spread of infection of several influenza variants in Indonesia, including Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) also known as Singapore Flu.

"When we get an infection like the flu, it is important that our immune system is not weak," Budi Gunadi Sadikin said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, March 28.

3. Australia, Indonesia Commemorates 75 Years of Bilateral Relations

Director General for Asia Pacific and Africa of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Kadir Jailani, and Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams, jointly launched the official logo commemorating Indonesia-Australia 75 years of bilateral relations (28/3), as reported from kemlu.go.id.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the logo has a Garuda and Kangaroo design with red, white, and blue patterns that symbolize the characteristics of both countries and will be used throughout the year.
