TEMPO.CO, Solo - Vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka claimed that he has no plans to leave for Jakarta when the General Elections Commission (KPU) announces the results of the 2024 elections scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2024. He confirmed that he would stay in Solo City that day.

“I will stay in Solo tomorrow (March 20),” Gibran said at the Solo City Hall, Central Java when asked whether he planned to monitor the election results by the KPU in Jakarta.

Although the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran pair led the national vote tally based on the KPU’s preliminary vote count, defeating the other two candidate pairs, Gibran urged his supporters not to react with excessive euphoria.

“There is no need for excessive euphoria,” the Solo Mayor said.

He also claimed that he had no plans yet to meet with any parties after the KPU announcement. “Later,” he answered briefly.

According to the KPU's national vote recapitulation in 34 provinces, the Prabowo-Gibran pair managed to outperform candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. Prabowo-Gibran secured the majority of national votes in 32 provinces.

Today, March 19, the KPU was determined to complete the process of the vote recapitulation in four provinces.
