TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Starting March 2024, Indonesia's commercial aviation will be enlivened by a new airline called BBN Airlines Indonesia. This airline has just received an additional Air Operation Certificate or AOC for commercial passenger flights from the Transportation Ministry.

"The Ministry of Transportation has stated that BBN Airlines Indonesia is feasible and meets regulatory standards to open commercial passenger flight services which will begin operations immediately in March 2024," said BBN Airlines Indonesia Chairman Martynas Grigas in Jakarta, Monday, March 11, 2024.

Martynas explained that the addition of the certificate confirms the airline's readiness to operate aircraft for commercial purposes. The Transportation Ministry also assesses that BBN Airlines Indonesia will provide an air travel experience with high safety and service standards.

In their official website, BBN Airlines Indonesia said that it was established in Jakarta, Indonesia, in August 2022. The airline is a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, the world's largest provider of aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance or ACMI.

BBN Airlines Indonesia is an Indonesia-based cargo airline specializing in ACMI Leasing, Air Charter Flights, and Air Freight Services. The airline focuses on ACMI leasing as well as air charter services.

With a focus on ACMI leasing as well as air charter, BBN Airlines Indonesia serves airlines in Southeast Asia to fulfill their capacity needs. Located at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, BBN Airlines Indonesia also connects customers throughout Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

BBN Airline is ready with three Boeing 737-800 fleets to serve passenger charter requests and three cargo aircraft with Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-400 fleets to serve domestic and international flights. The airline targets to operate a fleet of 40 aircraft by 2027.
