TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Co-captain of the Anies-Muhaimin National Winning Team (Timnas Amin) Sudirman Said said corruption cases were rampant during the two terms of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi's leadership. The Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK was also paralyzed through the revision of the KPK Law.

"They do whatever they can, even the control institutions don't function," said Sudirman in a discussion in South Jakarta on Saturday, March 9.

According to him, the non-functioning of the legislative institutions has resulted in the country running without supervision. This could be seen from the many laws that have been passed in a short time.

Sudirman said that some of these problems arise because ethics are forgotten. This leads to efforts to break the law. "Everything is considered permissible," he said.

However, he is optimistic that Indonesia has the power to correct itself and improve democracy. Young people are at the forefront of this. This is because the correctional progress in this country has always been driven and represented by young people.

"I strongly believe in young people with wide networks and extraordinary creativity. Therefore, the energy of young people in 2024 should not be wasted," said Sudirman.
