TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Have you ever planned a trip to the most beautiful countries in the world? Fortunately, Indonesians do not have to voyage far and wide, as the country takes the crown as the home to the most breathtaking natural beauty spots, according to Forbes.

Indonesia, which boasts a natural beauty score of 7.77 out of 10, has more than 17,000 islands. “And just off the shores of these islands, you’ll find over 31,000 square miles of coral reef, teeming with life, much of which can be explored from the popular province of Bali,” said Sal Haqqi, personal finance editor at money.co.uk. as quoted from Forbes.

Some of the most sought-after destinations among local and foreign tourists are Bali and Raja Ampat. Bali is renowned for its exquisite beaches, sea, and rich culture, Raja Ampat has incredibly stunning seas and islands.

Other natural features that help Indonesia clinch the top spot include the Komodo National Park on Komodo Island, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the island of Sumatra covered in tropical forests, and Kalimantan or Borneo, which is home to an orangutan reserve.

New Zealand ranks second on the list of the world’s most beautiful countries, with a natural beauty score of 7.27 out of 10. It is famous for its active volcanoes, rolling hills, mountain peaks, and glaciers. This is why many movies have been filmed here, including The Lord of the Rings.

Colombia comes in third with a natural beauty score of 7.16 out of 10. Like Indonesia and New Zealand, Colombia has a long coastline along the Caribbean coast. It is also one of the countries that runs through the world’s longest mountain range, the Andes, and is crossed by the world’s longest river, the Amazon.
