TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani has cast a vote in the February 14 election near her private residence in Bintaro, South Tangerang. At the registration table, Sri received five ballot papers, including those to elect presidential and vice presidential candidates and legislative candidates. Before voting, she checked all the ballot papers and showed them to the media crew.

The former executive director of the World Bank advised voters to check all ballot papers to ensure that nothing is damaged before proceeding to the voting booth.

“The ballot papers must be opened first and checked to make sure that they are not damaged and are still good. So we can make our choice,” Sri said after voting.

She also praised the poll administrator in her area for making the voting process run smoothly by providing clear and detailed explanations.

Previously, footage of ballots cast at overseas polling stations (TPS) went viral. In a 1-minute and 28-second video posted by a TikTok account, @haji_gus_mahjun, three unknown people allegedly cast the ballot papers.

Three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are running in this presidential election. They are Anies Baswedan - Muhaimin Iskandar, Prabowo Subianto - Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Ganjar Pranowo - Mahfud Md. Gibran is the eldest son of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi.

Sri Mulyani and several ministers have lately been in the public spotlight as they were rumored to be resigning from their positions in President Jokowi’s cabinet.
