TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The University of Indonesia (UI) welcomed a visit from the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Armin Limo on Wednesday, Feb. 7, to explore the potential of cooperation in the education sector.

Both parties attempted to reestablish cooperative relations after UI previously succeeded in establishing collaboration to improve the academic quality with two universities in Bosnia-Herzegovina; the University of East Sarajevo and the University of Tuzla. It was marked by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2019.

Secretary of UI, dr. Agustin Kusumayati said that the meeting was important in maintaining and expanding the potential for collaboration between Indonesia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. She hoped the meeting could develop into a collaboration opportunity with other universities and expand Indonesia's network with the Bosnian government.

Armin Limo said that the visit aimed to develop collaboration with several universities in Bosnia-Herzegovina. By utilizing technology, information, and communication, UI and universities in Bosnia-Herzegovina could start the distance learning process.

He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina platformed more than 500 online courses, the majority in English. Armin Limo noticed great potential in collaboration by exploring online courses. Through an agreement between both parties, student development begins by offering courses to students.

Agustin said that UI is committed to opening opportunities for students and academics to explore the potential of education with universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and enrich global experiences. Both parties hope to create a strong relationship in endless collaboration with knowledge and cultural diversity.
