1. Almas Tsaqibbirru Sues Gibran Rakabuming at Surakarta District Court

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Almas Tsaqibbirru has stirred up controversy again. After successfully leading Gibran Rakabuming Raka to advance to the presidential election with a judicial review granted by the Constitutional Court, the young man is now suing President Jokowi's eldest son for failure to fulfill his obligations as the Mayor of Solo. Almas' team of lawyers will issue a statement on Friday, February 2.

Referring to the Surakarta District Court's website, the case was registered under 25/Pdt.G/2024/PN.Skt on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Almas had previously sued the mayor for the same matter on January 22, but the judge dismissed his lawsuit registered under 2/Pdt.G.S/2024/PN.Skt.

2. Jokowi to Meet with Mahfud Md Today over Minister's Resignation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi confirmed that he would meet with Mahfud Md in his capacity as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, this afternoon, Feb. 01, over the latter’s resignation plan.

“We will meet in the afternoon, perhaps,” he said at Wonogiri Market in Central Java on Thursday, as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s audio release.

The palace has not yet confirmed where the meeting between the Coordinating Minister and the President will take place.

3. Batam Releases First Export of Mangrove Crabs to China

TEMPO.CO, Batam - The Riau Islands' Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine Center in tandem with the Batam Development Authority (BP Batam) released the first export of live mangrove crabs (Scylla serrata) to Shanghai, China on Wednesday, January 31. The shipment was made by Garuda Indonesia.

The total export value amounted to IDR 17 million with a weight of 120 kilograms, according to the head of the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Fishery Product Safety Agency (SKIPM) M Darwin Syah Putra.
