TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice presidential candidate number three Mahfud MD highlighted the problem of land inequality that occurs in Indonesia. This inequality can be seen from the land area for palm oil business which reaches 39 hectares. In fact, he said, the palm oil business is only owned by a handful of people.

"Meanwhile, our 17 million farmers, on average, only control half a hectare," said Mahfud in the 2024 Vice Presidential Debate, Sunday evening, January 21, 2024.

Therefore, there is an agrarian reform agenda assigned to the president. This agrarian reform includes the legalization of redistribution and the restoration of land rights claims.

However, continued Mahfud, certification for land redistribution has not yet been realized. The program that has been implemented, he said, is land legalization.

"People already have it, then they are given a certificate. Others haven't got it yet, it's redistributed," said Mahfud.

Regarding agrarian reform, Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo - Mahfud MD promoted the idea of "Complete Agrarian Reform".

In its vision and mission document, Ganjar-Mahfud offers an efficient and fair land allocation management program. This program includes redistribution and legalization of land free from land mafia to ensure transparent, fast, accurate and cheap land administration and documentation processes.
