TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Health Ministry has announced that COVID-19 vaccines would remain free of charge for two vulnerable groups starting from January 1, 2024.

The first vulnerable group comprises elderly people who have never received the first injection of the COVID-19 vaccine, the ministry's Disease Control and Prevention Director General Maxi Rein Rondonuwu stated.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several residents of Jakarta and the vicinity voiced their opinions on the capital city relocation scheduled to be executed in 2024. Various opinions about Indonesia’s capital relocation from Jakarta to IKN (Nusantara State Capital) in Kalimantan remain to be the talks of the town.

Rheyna (26), a resident of South Jakarta, said that she knew about the capital relocation. But she admitted that she wasn’t happy about it and disagreed with the plan.

3. Jakarta Handles Highest-ever 130 Tons of New Year's Eve Waste

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Environmental Service (DLH) collected 130 tons of waste during the 2024 New Year celebrations in the capital city, marking the highest volume ever recorded by the office.

"Especially along the Sudirman-Thamrin Road, where we collected 32 tons of waste," said Head of the Jakarta DLH, Asep Kuswanto, adding that this figure surpasses the previous record of 125 tons set in 2019.
