TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono expressed his appreciation for female civil servants in the city administration in the commemoration of National Mother's Day which is celebrated every year on December 22.
Heru commended all female apparatus for providing optimal service to the community and appealed to them to continue to be united and maintain integrity.
He acknowledged the proud achievements of women for the continuity and progress of the capital, which proved that they could fight, work, and be professional in public service.
“I would like to thank all the female apparatus in the provincial government. Let's continue to move forward,” Heru said in a written statement, on Thursday, Dec. 21.
He also mentioned two examples of great women serving the citizens of Jakarta. They are the Regional Secretariat's Assistant for Economic and Financial Affairs, Sri Haryati, and Assistant for People's Welfare, Widyastuti.
According to the Jakarta acting governor, Sri Haryati plays a pivotal role in maintaining the economy and controlling regional inflation, while Widyastuti contributed greatly to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic when serving as the head of the Jakarta Health Agency.
“I saw that Ibu Widi was very tough in dealing with the [pandemic] situation, and thank God, we were able to get through the toughest moment at that time,” Heru Budi said.
