TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Hospital in Gaza currently faces a medicine shortage since humanitarian aid is still unable to enter Gaza, Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) Indonesia reported.

"So far medicine or logistic aids are unable to enter," said MER-C volunteer Fikri Rohul Haq through X, the social media formerly known as Twitter in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Fikri stated that humanitarian aid is unable to enter Gaza since the Rafah crossing was hit by Israeli airstrikes, closing the border.

According to Fikri, paramedics in Indonesian Hospital are experiencing immense exhaustion from working 24 hours due to the rising number of victims in Gaza.

The Indonesian Hospital hopes medicines and logistics could soon enter Gaza and be distributed to help paramedics treat injured civilians.

Per October 17, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 2,350 people, consisting of 600 children and 400 women, injuring more than 9,000 people, Fikri informed.

This number excludes the number of victims from the recent Israeli strike at Anglican Hospital, which killed more than 500 people.

At Indonesian Hospital alone, until October 17, 2023, 470 were killed, 1,800 injured and many are still being treated.
