TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The provincial government of Jakarta issued a circular letter urging private companies in the city to implement a work-from-home policy (WFH) during the 43rd ASEAN Summit next week on September 4-7, 2023.

"[Companies] to apply a combination of work-from-home and work-from-office based on the type and nature of the job during the preparation and commencement of the 43rd ASEAN Summit," said the head of Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Office Hari Nugroho cited from the circular letter.

Hari mentioned that every company is allowed to adapt to the policy accordingly to ensure the summit can run smoothly without sacrificing economic activity.

"It should be noted that a traffic engineering measure in the form of contraflow will be implemented in the area surrounding the venue of the ASEAN summit," Hari said.

Previously, the government and the traffic directorate of Metro Jaya regional police will employ traffic engineering on 29 roads during the summit. These roads carry the routes for ASEAN summit delegates from their accommodation to six different venues.

The roads affected by the traffic engineering are Jl. Jenderal Sudirman, Jl. MH Thamrin, Jl. Gatot Subroto, Jl. HR Rasuna Said, and Jl. Imam Bonjol.

The other roads are Jl. HOS Cokroaminoto, Jl. Galunggung, Jl. RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo, Jl. KH Mas Mansyur, Jl. Karet Pasar Baru Timur V, Jl. Karet Pasar Baru Timur II, Jl. Karet Pasar Baru Timur III, west-side of Jl. Prof. Dr. Satrio, Jl. Kebon Sirih, Jl. Wahid Hasyim, and Jl. Gerbang Pemuda.
