TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia carries out a flexible approach to support the three main digitalization agenda discussed in the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) G20 India. The three main agendas are Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Digital Inclusion and Innovation; Building Safety, Security, Resilience, and Trust in the Digital Economy; and Digital Skilling for Building a Global Future Ready Workforce.

"Indonesia encourages the utilization of DPI which focused domestically without undermining the possibility to develop a cross-state DPI," said Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi on Monday, August 21, 2023.

The flexible approach to DPI will allow every country to develop its public digital infrastructure to cater to its own need, condition, and economic growth.

Furthermore, Indonesia supports the issue of building a secure digital economy since the issue was also brought up by Indonesia in its chairmanship at G20 2022. "Indonesia has gathered several practices from various members of G20 concerning digital security which is a key factor to support business sustainability, especially for MSMEs," he said.

Indonesia also welcomes India's recommendation to conduct cooperation of digital talents between countries.

In addition to the flexible approach, Indonesia is also committed to establishing a routine program to comprehensively develop public digital literacy. "All digital human resources development programs will be conducted in collaboration with all stakeholders such as academics, industry actors, civil organizations, and governmental agencies," said Budi.

Meanwhile, DEMM DEG G20 India is participated by seven G20 members' ministries and five invited countries' ministries.
