TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government is determined to implement a work-from-home (WFH) policy of 50 percent for state civil servants (ASN) and distance learning (PJJ) for schools from August 28 to September 7, 2023.

Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono said the WFH and PJJ policies would take effect in line with the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

“Especially in case of the summit, I ask the regional secretary to start the trial run of the [WFH and WFO] policy on August 28 at 50-50 percent each,” Heru said at the Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Aside from WFH, the city administration would also enforce distance learning (PJJ) for students. Under the policy, 50 percent of students will study at schools and the rest 50 percent will study at home.

“Related to the ASEAN Summit, the officials of the Regional Government will work from home and office at a 50-50 percent ratio. School students will also follow the same,” Heru confirmed.

As for private employees, Heru stressed that the WFH policy is only an appeal. Earlier, he explained that the implementation of the WFH policy during the 43rd ASEAN Summit for private employees depends on the policy of the company. “Each company can make its own decision,” Heru said.
