Russian cyber security company Kaspersky commented on the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 47 of 2023 concerning the National Cyber Security Strategy and Cyber Crisis Management signed by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi on July 20, 2023.

“The issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 47 of 2023 marks a significant measure in strengthening Indonesia's digital landscape,” Kaspersky Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Asia-Pacific Regions, Genie Sugene Gan, said in a written statement quoted on Friday, August 4, 2023.

2. Indonesia Plans to Secure World Bank Loan to Solve Traffic Congestion Issue

President Jokowi in a limited meeting held on August 3, with Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, discussed the transportation development plan in Bandung Basin or Greater Bandung, planning to take a loan from the World Bank.

3. Halt on Jakarta Waste-to-Energy Plant ITF Sunter Project Not Violation, Official Says

Jakarta Environment Agency Head Asep Kuswanto stated that there is no regional regulation (Perda) requiring the city administration to build the waste-to-energy plant dubbed the Intermediate Treatment Facility or ITF Sunter.

“There is no Perda mentioning the obligation to build an ITF,” Asep said in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

Asep emphasized that based on Regional Regulation No. 4 of 2019 concerning the amendments to Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2013 on waste management, the government will grant waste management service fees for those developing waste management systems. “So it doesn't have to be ITF,” he added.
