Indonesian Automotive Industry Deepens Networks, Market Penetration in Vietnam

TEMPO.CO, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - As many as 11 Indonesian companies in the automotive sector, especially spare parts products, participated in the Automechanika 2023 exhibition which was held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City. This international exhibition is the 5th series of exhibitions and is one of the largest spare parts product exhibitions in Vietnam. Pavilion Indonesia is one of the 9 pavilions participating in Automechanika 2023. The Automechanika 2023 exhibition is attended by a total of 461 companies from 20 countries and territories.

Supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi, the Trade Attaché in collaboration with the Directorate of Manufacturing Product Export Development, Ministry of Trade, 9 Indonesian companies occupied the 90m2 Indonesian Pavilion. The nine companies are PT Adyawinsa Rubber Industry (rubber to metal bonded parts of vulcanized rubber), PT Aneka Komkar Utama (wheels, gaskets, plastic component rubber to metal bonded parts of vulcanized rubber), PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (spare parts), PT Chakra Giri Energi Indonesia (electric vehicle charging unit), PT Megatama Spring (spare parts, spring), PT Pakokuina (wheels, velg), PT Supreme Belting Perkasa (multi rib belt, poly v-belt for automotive), PT Edico Utama/ Teikin (spare parts, pistons, gaskets). Apart from the pavilion, there are 2 other participating Indonesian companies, namely PT. Indoprima Gemilang (brakepad, spring) and CV Cahaya Sumber Urip (foglamp, spare parts).

The Indonesian Consul General HCMC together with the Trade Attache and representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade were present at the opening ceremony of Auotomechanika 2023 which took place on June 23 2023. The inauguration of the 5th Automechanika series was also witnessed by representatives of the HCMC Ministry of Trade and Industry, Vietrade HCMC, Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industries , Vietnam Association of Supporting Industries, HCMC Association of Mechanical and Electrical Enterprises, Rubber and Plastic Manufacturer Association, Vietnam Rubber Association.

The opportunities for the automotive sector in Vietnam are getting bigger. This year's exhibitor interest increased by 28%. In addition to meeting with Vietnamese business people, this exhibition provides an opportunity to develop networks with partners from other countries. Apart from product displays, this exhibition also has conference sessions, networking events, and workshops. According to the organizers, electronic vehicles, auto service and maintenance and automotive manufacturing are the biggest opportunities in the Vietnamese market. The exhibition lasts until June 25, 2023.
