TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned construction company Wijaya Karya (IDX: WIKA) responded to an article in tempo.co with the headline 'KPK Tahan Tersangka Korupsi Pembangunan Jalan Lingkar Barat Duri Kabupaten Bengkalis' published on Thursday, May 11. The news stated that Petrus Edy Susanto was one of the deputy directors of WIKA's directors.

WIKA corporate secretary Mahendra Vijaya corrected the publication and said that the company does not have a deputy director position in its structure.

"Furthermore, the aforementioned name was never an employee nor a manager of the company," Mahendra said in a written statement on Friday, May 12.

The article stated that Petrus Edy Susanto, one of the suspects in the alleged corruption case in the multi-years project for the construction of the Duri West Ring Road in Bengkalis Regency, was a deputy director of the board of directors of PT Wijaya Karya.

The information published refers to the written statement that Tempo obtained from the Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK.
