TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir announced that the government will receive the largest dividends payout in the history of SOEs, which will amount to a total of Rp80.2 trillion.

“We had a meeting with President Jokowi and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani yesterday about SOEs' performance last year and this year. We will hand out the biggest dividend in the history of Indonesia’s SOEs to the country at a total of Rp80 trillion,” said Minister Erick on Monday, May 1, 2023.

Erick stated that such condition confirms the role of SOEs in making contributions to the nation in addition to paying income tax. Erick explained that the dividends will be used to fund public and social programs.

Previously, Erick said that the consolidated net profit of State-Owned Enterprises would reach Rp 303.7 trillion (unaudited) in 2022. Therefore, Erick said that there is a possibility of a very significant increase in profits of Rp 179 trillion, and also an increase in assets from Rp 8,978 trillion in 2021 to Rp 9,867 trillion (unaudited) in 2022.

Erick also claimed that the SOE transformation program the Ministry had pushed for is currently 75 percent completed.
