8 Days to Eid; 39,857 Vehicles Leave Jakarta Via Cikampek Toll

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eid homecoming, or mudik, travelers started to leave the capital city of Jakarta. Toll road operator Jasa Marga recorded on Friday, April 14, or eight days ahead of Eid al-Fitr Day, 39,857 vehicles headed to the east through the Cikampek Utama toll gate.

The vehicle volume, said Vice President Corporate Secretary and Legal of Jasamarga Transjawa Tol I, Ria Marlinda Paallo, increased by 30.64 percent compared to normal traffic of 30,509 vehicles.

Therefore, Ria calls on the Trans Java toll road users to prepare themselves and their vehicles before departing.

"Make sure yourself and the vehicles are in good condition, always abide by the health protocols set by the government when resting at the rest area, make sure the fuel and e-money balance is sufficient, and comply with the signs and directions of officials in the field," Ria said in a written statement on Saturday, April 15.
